Alcedo atthis

| Kingfisher Alcedo atthis, is a commonly seen winter-guest in Denmark, but where kingfishers most seasons are found inland by small rivers in the woods, this one creature is visiting a rather unusual spot, vacating amongst the boats in the yachting harbour of small town Vedbęk Monday, January the 7th 2002. The bird had stayed here for fourteen days, when these pictures were taken, obviously using the space and ice free water underneath the boardwalk for its hunting. |
