Larus audouinii
Audouiens Gull, Audouiens Mås, Audouiensmåge

Denmarks first ever Audouiens Gull (Larus audouinii) shows it’s warn down tail and primaries over the waters of the harbour of Elsinore Denmark in the early morning light of Saturday June 10. 2006. The bird has obviously been held captive somehow. Not necessarily, deliberately and in a box. It could be behind some forgotten door on board a cargo ship.

Who cares. The visit was welcomed by Danish birders. The pleasure was on our side. This species is considered to be one the most seldomly seen birds of this world and more than that, with it’s red beak and bright white plumage, one the most beautiful too.
